How to Prepare Gluten-free Bean Curd (Soyabean curd)

  Bean curd is made from tofu skin. It is dried for easy storage. Follow the steps below: 1. Soak the bean curd in water for 20 minutes or until soft. 2. Squeeze excess water. 3. Cut them according to your preference. 4. Season them with a little salt or a little mushroom powder.  5. Deep fry.

Braised Bean Curd with Black Fungus

      Need something tasty yet easy to prep? Fret no more! This braised bean curd is super tasty yet so easy with simple ingredients.   You need the following:   1 tbsp vegan oyster mushroom sauce 8 pieces soaked black fungus 8 pieces soaked and sliced bean curd 2 tsp cornstarch 2 pieces star anise 1 tsp mushroom powder 2 cup water   Instruction:   1. Do the basic prep for bean curd . After this prep, fry the bean curd. 2. Boil 2 cups of water. 3. Put star anise and vegan oyster sauce. Simmer for 2 minutes to bring out the aroma of star anise. 4. Add soaked black fungus. 5. While simmering, prepare cornstarch slurry by mixing 2 tsp cornstarch and 3 tbsp water. 6. Add cornstarch slurry. Mix well. 7. Lower the heat before adding fried bean curd. 8. Now, add fried bean curd and then take off the heat. 9. Enjoy this tasty vegan treat!        

Vegan Chopsuey

    Chop Suey (Chopsuey) is an excellent dish to prepare any time of the year since the vegetables are all-year round available.   It's also great for special occasions because it gives you a celebratory feeling every time you eat one.    Ingredients: 1 tbsp diced onion ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper 1 cup sliced carrot half cup bell pepper half cup cauliflower half cup broccoli flower 5 pieces baby corn 10 pieces snow peas 5 pieces soaked shiitake mushroom cornstarch slurry: 2 tablespoons cornstarch 2 teaspoons soy sauce ( vegan oyster mushroom sauce ) Instruction: 1.Saute onion until brownish. 2.Add carrots and cook until half-cooked. 3.Add cauliflower, broccoli, baby corn, snow peas and shiitake mushroom and simmer for 5 minutes. 4.Pour cornstarch slurry. 5.Add pepper, mushroom powder and vegan fish sauce to taste. 6.Simmer for a minute. 7.Enjoy you vegan chopsuey.  

Vegan Fried Food for Friday Nights

 Fried food are easy to prepare. Though not very healthy, people still eat them. Take them only once in awhile to keep your body healthy. Use cold-pressed coconut oil when frying.   This vegan fried food for Friday nights is a vegan treat to reward the self from the whole week's busy schedule. You can literally fry any vegan food that you like. The picture above are the following: seasoned eggplant (soy sauce seasoning) sliced bean curd (dried tokwa) sliced veggie meat Use mushroom powder to season both the bean curd and the veggie meat. Fry them and prepare a classic Filipino sauce. (soy sauce, calamansi and chili) Viola! You've got a vegan Friday night treat! This can be eaten any day, too.  

Gluten-free, Vegan Afritada

      A traditional afritada recipe calls for seasoned pork, potatoes, carrots, and bell peppers in a tomato sauce.But using bean curd (dried tokwa skin) is much better since there's no cholesterol and no animals are harmed. Add a Vegan Knorr Cube to make it more flavorful.  Ingredients: 4 tablespoons cooking oil 1 medium onion, diced 4 cloves garlic, minced 1 pack soaked and fried bean curd 1 pack gluten-free tomato sauce (250 gram) 1 cup water 1 large quartedred potatoes 1 large sliced carrot 1 large slided red bell pepper 1/2 tsp brown sugar (optional) 1/2 tsp vegan oyster mushroom sauce (if it's not available, use regular soy sauce) mushroom seasoning and pepper to taste   Prepare the bean curd:   Soak bean curd in water for 20 minutes or until tender.     When you hear the word 'palabok' what comes to your mind? Palabok is a type of noodles with yellowish-red sauce and delicious toppings.
